COMMANDER’S CORNER                                        April 2017

As this newsletter goes to print, I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks for the turnout we had for the St. Patty's day party.  There were about 200 hundred folks that showed up to enjoy the traditional fare, low cost beverages, and camaraderie. It is my hope that you will mark your calendar and join us next year!!!

As spring arrives, it's time for Baseball. Post 7 sponsors a team that competes in a highly competitive league with a schedule consisting of 35 games. We have new coaches, uniforms and a winning spirit that should make for some exciting action. Most of these games will be played at Annapolis High School, and we're going to post their schedule and keep you updated as the season progresses. I would like to stress that your support of the Post in attending the various functions, dinners etc. is a contributing factor to this undertaking. These young men are learning the skills of the game, teamwork, and becoming good citizens.

Bar renovation - We recently had to make some renovations to our bar as with everything, time and wear, it had to be replaced. The new bar with granite top and brass rails was installed in a timely fashion, and came in under the budgeted costs.  We received a number of compliments on this improvement and I would hope you will stop by to check out this rennovation. If you would like to have one of the wooden tile memories from the old bar, please contact Pat Guibao.

Vietnam Mural - Soon Don Eck will start on a wall size mural to honor those who served in Vietnam. Please come by the Post to see the progress.

Alice Whitney - I would like to pass along that the members and your Post collectively contributed $1200 to the Whitney family in memory of our dearly departed colleague and valued friend.

Boys State - Post 7 is sponsoring Taylor Hawkins, a junior at the top of his class at St. Mary's High School. He will be attending a week-long camp in June.

Open Door - Please stop by with any problems or compliments, or call me at 703 627-7300.

For God and Country,
